About the company & role
A leading Life Sciences business with a global footprint across the US, LATAM, and Europe is seeking a Senior Attorney to join its growing legal team, based in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a senior role focused on providing legal support to the company’s life division, with a particular emphasis on commercial and intellectual property matters.
Reporting directly to senior legal leadership in Europe, this role will also have exposure to data privacy, employment, and regulatory issues across the US and LATAM regions. It offers a broad and intellectually stimulating mix of transactional, advisory, and compliance work in a dynamic and high-growth sector.
What’s on offer?
This position offers the chance to play a pivotal role in the North American and LATAM legal function, supporting commercial strategy and risk management across key business units. You’ll be involved in high-value commercial deals, IP strategy, and evolving areas such as data privacy and employment law.
This is a highly autonomous role within a lean legal structure, giving you access to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to shape legal risk frameworks across your region. You will collaborate closely with business leaders, R&D, regulatory affairs, and external counsel, with plenty of variety in your day-to-day work.
This position is ideally suited to a commercially minded legal professional with strong transactional experience and the ability to navigate legal complexity across multiple jurisdictions.
A competitive compensation package is available, aligned with experience and sector benchmarks.
About you
To be considered for this role, you will be a US-qualified attorney with a Juris Doctor degree and admission to a State Bar. You will bring at least 7 years of post-qualification experience, including in-house legal experience in a multinational environment.
You should have a solid background in commercial and IP matters, ideally with exposure to the Life Sciences, regulated FMCG, or chemicals sectors. Experience advising on licensing, sales/distribution, and manufacturing agreements is key, along with the ability to manage external counsel and engage with senior internal stakeholders. While not essential, prior experience or familiarity with data privacy and employment law in the US and/or LATAM would be highly advantageous.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative yet independent setting, can manage cross-border legal issues, and enjoys the challenges of operating in a highly regulated, innovation-driven environment.
