Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive privacy policies and procedures in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and Texas state privacy laws.
- Provide legal advice on privacy and data protection matters, including data use, data sharing, and data transfer issues.
- Lead privacy impact assessments and risk analysis for new and existing products and services.
- Manage responses to data breaches and privacy incidents, including investigation, remediation, and communication with affected parties and regulators.
- Oversee the development and delivery of privacy training programs for employees to ensure awareness and compliance across the organisation.
- Manage relationships with external privacy regulators and oversee privacy audits and inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in the state of Texas.
- At least 7-10 years of experience in privacy law, with a combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred.
- Deep understanding of U.S. and international privacy laws and regulations.
- Experience with the telecommunications or technology sectors, and an understanding of emerging technologies (e.g., big data analytics, IoT, cloud computing, AI, SaaS) preferred.
- Strong project management skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make presentations at senior executive and Board levels.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% as required.
