Leonid Group is privileged to be searching on behalf of one of our most esteemed clients in the U.S, with an internationally renowned defense giant. A major player in the U.S. aerospace and defense sector, delivering cutting-edge technology to support national defense, space exploration, and commercial innovation.
Following a recent strategic acquisition, the business is hiring a Senior Accountant to help establish core finance processes and support the roll-out of SAP and other systems within the newly acquired entity.
The role
This individual will play a key role in core accounting operations within a fast-evolving environment. The position requires a hands-on contributor who can operate with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities, and support the development of scalable financial processes and controls.
Location - Camarillo, CA
Key Responsibilities
- Support the monthly close process in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Maintain the general ledger and perform account reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Manage customer invoicing and collections
- Monitor and analyze overhead, G&A, and fringe rate structures
- Review variances between actual and budgeted indirect rates
- Strengthen internal controls and recommend process improvements
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Prepare internal management reporting related to program cost tracking, inventory, profitability, and R&D spend
- Contribute to internal and external audit processes
- Support tax filings and sales tax compliance as needed
- Assist with ERP-related initiatives and system improvements
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
Qualifications required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience working within an ERP environment
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required
- Defense experience is required.
